Upon arrival at Beauty & Essex, guests will walk through the restaurant's well-curated modern day pawn shop complete with a custom saxophone and boombox, quirky artifacts and vintage treasures.
The Salon Experience
The restaurant itself is also designed to be an experience, and not just a place where you can enjoy food and drink. The innovative design starts at the entrance, which features a wellcurated modern day pawn shop complete with a saxophone and boombox. From there, guests continue through the space and are greeted by a twostory chandelier made of thousands of vintage perfume bottles. Throughout the rest of the space, guests are treated to several dining rooms, a bar and a women’s bathroom that includes a luxurious sofa and antique hairdryers.
Beauty & Essex is a unique and engaging culinary and social space that combines the best of both worlds – fine dining with a hip, fun and irreverent attitude. The menu is eclectic and unique with a focus on fresh ingredients, and many of the dishes are inspired by local producers. The restaurant has a strong sense of community and has been involved in numerous charitable efforts over the years.
The SalonEra series feels like a natural extension of the restaurant’s mission. “It’s an opportunity to share the love of Bach with a larger audience,” Nagy says. “Bach’s music is timeless and healing.” He explains that each episode of SalonEra will explore a different aspect of Bach’s musical dynasty, from the early baroque to his later, more popular work.
The first episode, which premieres on Monday, August 24, is devoted to the famous piece of music, “All-Bach.” Nagy believes that it’s a way to connect with people and to show them that Les Delices is here to stay. “I think it’s our most important outreach project to date,” she says. “We’re always trying to find new ways to engage with our community.” It’s a way to share an authentic and creative voice with the city. Hopefully, it will inspire others to take the risk and follow their passions too.
The Menu
Located inside TAO Group’s Beauty & Essex, this oneofakind dining experience starts with a wellcurated modern day pawn shop complete with a saxophone, boombox, quirky artifacts and vintage treasures. After making your way through the storefront, you’ll find yourself in a stunning restaurant with your table tucked away in one of several jewelry box rooms. From a partnership with renowned chef/restaurateur Chris Santos, the menu features unique sharing plates as well as new twists on classic cocktails.
The menu will inspire you to try a variety of dishes such as the Chicken Meatballs served with grilled sweet potato waffles, the Grilled Cheese Smoked Bacon & Tomato Soup Dumplings and many more delicious treats. The bar also offers a wide selection of unique cocktails created by the expert mixologists.
