Missing Houston Tattoo Artist

Julian Issac, a 29-year-old Houston tattoo artist, has been missing since Tuesday. He was last seen in the 11700 block of Teaneck Drive, according to his mother, Azilie Realism Tattoos Issac.

Julian's family and friends have been searching for him. They contacted Texas Equusearch to help them search on Friday but their efforts came to an end Saturday.

Julian Issac’s family says he was being chased

The family of missing Houston tattoo artist Julian Issac said he was being chased before he disappeared. His mother, Azilie Issac, told KPRC 2 that her son was taking an Uber to visit his girlfriend who lives near Teaneck Drive on June 15. He arrived at her home around 4:30 a.m. and texted her that he was being chased, and then called her saying he was being chased again around 5 a.m.

He was last seen on Tuesday, June 15, in the 11700 block of Teaneck Drive, according to police. He was wearing a blue baseball cap with an orange logo. He was also wearing a gray hoodie and was driving an older model black sedan with a white interior.

On June 16, the family began searching for Julian using different search and rescue groups, but they were unable to get any help from them. They also had a few searches done by local agencies, including Houston police, but they only used a helicopter for about ten minutes.

In addition to utilizing all local organizations, the family also tried to reach out to EquuSearch, but they were hesitant to assist them. They would only respond to the request if they were directed to do so by the Houston Police Department.

Eventually, one of the searchers got in touch with the right people at EquuSearch, and they agreed to help the family on Saturday. However, they only allowed 25 people to join the search.

As a result, the search took a while to get underway. But, when it did, it was a grueling one.

After all of the work, it finally came to a sad and untimely end on Saturday afternoon when a body was found in a wooded area close to where Issac had been missing for a week. The body was believed to be that of Issac based on his clothing description, but it is still being investigated by law enforcement.

Issac’s family held a vigil on Sunday night outside Red Eye Gallery Tattoo Studio to grieve for their loved one and remember him. The family is asking for everyone’s prayers and support. They also ask for people to contact them if they have information about the case or any leads on where Julian may have been.

On Tuesday, June 15, Julian Issac took an Uber to visit his girlfriend who lives near Teaneck Drive in southeast Harris County. He arrived at her house around 4:30 a.m. His mother said he then called her and his brother saying that he was being chased by three men.

William Issac told KPRC 2 he was in his kitchen when his brother called him from the scene, and when he answered the phone, Julian’s voice was frantic and fearful. He was cursing and yelling in a panicked voice, and the phone beeped repeatedly.

After that call, William and his mother searched for Julian using his phone’s location sharing feature. They then sent a screenshot of the location to Julian’s girlfriend Marisol, and Marisol went back out to search for him.

Afterward, they found Julian’s hat and phone in the front yard of 11735 Teaneck Drive, according to William. When they looked further into the situation, they saw that a neighbor had contacted the police with a report of what they thought was a dead body.

Later in the day, they received a notification from Texas EqquSearch that they had found what was believed to be Julian’s body. Based on the clothing description, investigators said they believe it’s Julian.

But before the body was positively identified, authorities still had to determine the cause of death. The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office is now working to confirm a death.

While this is heartbreaking news for Julian’s loved ones, they say it could have been much worse. They’re calling on anyone with information to contact the Houston Police Department.

Until that time, the police had stopped investigating, and no one knew what happened to Julian. Thankfully, his friends and family banded together and started a search grid to find him. They were able to get nearly 100 people to show up with ATVs and drones, machetes to cut through brush, and even a boat to help them find him. They hope the attention this case is getting will help keep the investigation moving forward.

In the meantime, investigators continue to try to figure out what happened to Issac and why he went missing. He was reported missing Tuesday morning and his car was found in a nearby neighborhood on Friday evening.

Despite the fact that Issac was reported missing on Tuesday, his brother told Eyewitness News that he still believes his brother is alive. William Issac said that his brother took an Uber to visit his girlfriend in the Sagemont area around I-45 S and the Beltway on Tuesday. Before he disappeared, Issac reportedly called his mother and William saying that he was being chased and that he was going to get killed.

Issac was a smart, respectful and well-mannered young man who wanted to be a doctor or police officer, his mother, Azilie Valladares, told KPRC 2. She says her son loved to go swimming and fishing. He was also a very good student at White City Elementary School.

Azilie said that her son was a loving, caring and happy person who always looked for ways to help others. He was very close with his family and had a big heart.

He was a great uncle and friend to Alani, who was 10 years old at the time of his disappearance, according to Valladares. She says that she will be contacting her daughter about Issac’s death, but she hasn’t been able to tell her yet because it’s too painful.
