Hanoi Asean Lottery

The Hanoi Asean lottery was started in 1998 and it is one of the most popular forms of gambling in Vietnam. It has similar rules to other forms of gambling and is known for the high number of winnings. But there are some differences, as well. Among them are the ticket prices and languages that can be read on the tickets แทงหวยฮานอย

History

The history of the Hanoi Asian Lottery dates back to the time when the capital city was still under Japanese rule. However, it was not until the twentieth century that gambling became a widespread and accepted part of Vietnam's culture. Traditionally, the lottery was the only form of gambling available in the country.

This game involved a series of numbers, each representing an animal or a fictional character. Numbers were arranged in a pattern that was repeated every forty numbers. Those lucky enough to buy a ticket were allowed to choose their favorite characters based on recent dreams and life circumstances. Each number was also associated with a deity or a fictional character.

Traditionally, the lottery was the only form o gambling available in Vietnam. However, some countries are now allowing certain forms of gambling to be legalized. In particular, the United States has introduced the draft lottery since World War II. Since the lottery is a popular recreational activity in some parts of the world, it is not surprising to see people gambling with their hard earned cash.

Tickets for the lottery are usually pink. They bear a Lao or Chinese language inscription. There are many variations of the lottery in the region, but the 40 Animals is one of the most popular. Typically, each number is associated with a deity, a fictional character, or an animal. Aside from the 40 Animals, there are other games that are played with lottery tickets, such as the so-de. These are unofficial versions of the lottery that are played by bettors. Some of these games involve betting on the outcome of the state lottery.

Cost

The cost of the Hanoi Asean lottery is not just a question of price. It is also an economic and social matter. The ticket sellers are not guaranteed employment or even a modest profit. That is because the government does not provide them with unemployment benefits.

The first company to enter the market was Malaysia's Berjaya Corp. Their investment was estimated to be around $210 million, and they plan on launching 10,000 terminals across Vietnam over the next five years. They also have a full-scale telemetry program, allowing them to collect data on the behavior of lottery players and their tickets, and to use it to improve their product.

The first game in the Asean lottery series is expected to launch in Ho Chi Minh City in the middle of next year. The prize is a whopping VND2 billion (US$516,000) or so. In an era where lottery plays are becoming a normal occurrence, the prize is no joke. While the aforementioned number of tickets may not be a boon to Vietnamese households, it is a boon to the national treasury. This is why it is not surprising that the Vietnamese government is keen on ensuring that this lucrative industry remains afloat.

Languages on the tickets

Aside from the Vietnamese and French language on the tickets of the Hanoi ASEAN lottery, the tickets also have Chinese, Lao, and Khmer language. This shows that the tickets are sold across all of South-East Asia. The tickets were printed in Hanoi between 1942 and 1944.

Until the 20th century, lottery was the only form of gambling in Vietnam. In the second world war, Japan occupied Vietnam for five years. They invaded and occupied it from 1940 to 1945. During that time, French authorities sold the lottery in Hanoi. Usually, they had pink or white colored tickets.

But in recent days, ticket sales have decreased. A government order has put a ban on all lottery activities and prohibited social distancing from April 1 to 15. Ticket sellers have been struggling to keep their businesses running. And now they need help.

On March 30, Duong Thanh Trung, chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Lieu Province, signed a dispatch ordering the state-owned Bac Lieu Lottery Company to provide support to lottery sellers. He also requested assistance from the Ministry of Finance to help lottery ticket vendors. Since the prohibition has started, lottery sales have dwindled to about 20 per day. Those sellers are now reliant on their family's income, which is not enough to cover their rent, food, and clothing.

As a result, ticket vendors are unable to afford rent or food. Some have lost part of their legs, making it difficult for them to sell. Nonetheless, they continue to sell lottery tickets to help their families. Many tourists have even taken pictures and made videos of them. Others post them on social media.

Berjaya Corp enters the market

Berjaya Corp Bhd, a Malaysian company, has entered the lottery market in Vietnam. This is the first time that a foreign company has entered the country's lottery industry. The company's unit has signed a business cooperation agreement with Vietnam Computerized Lottery One Member Co Ltd. It is expected that the first game will be launched in mid-2016 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Berjaya is a Malaysian conglomerate that owns a number of businesses. These include hotels, casinos, resorts, real estate, motor vehicle sales, and consumer goods. Some of its biggest projects are located in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Berjaya has also entered the automotive and luxury motor trading industries. Although these industries are based on predictable and sustainable earnings, they are not the largest contributors to Berjaya's overall revenue.

During the 1997 economic crisis, Berjaya was forced into bankruptcy. Founder Vincent Tan led the company through a restructuring that created a "new" Berjaya. Most of the former company assets were transferred to this new vehicle.

However, the size of Berjaya limits its growth opportunities. Management is trying to streamline the company by removing segments that are dragging down its performance. In addition, the company's financial position amplifies the risks that it faces.

While Berjaya's management is looking to simplify, the company's core businesses have a strong commitment to delivering reliable value to consumers. This is essential to Berjaya's financial health.

Despite its financial strength, Berjaya's biggest segment is often considered unethical. It is a marketing business, which runs on tight margins. Online sales of consumer goods are transforming the way that businesses market their products. As a result, it is difficult to predict the level of profit the company will earn from this segment.

Similarities to other forms of gambling

As far as gambling goes, Vietnam has a handful of casinos. The country is also home to Cambodian gamblers, many of whom travel across the border to try their luck at the tables. Some of them have even ventured as far as the United States, where they can be found staking their fortunes in the Nevada and Las Vegas strip. However, the government is looking to tame the gambling industry by legalizing betting on sporting events. This would allow the nation to better manage the social impact of illegal gambling syndicates and nefarious offshore operators.

Gambling is a fun past time for many, and in some countries it can be a gateway to bigger and better things. For instance, a recent study found that those who gambled on a regular basis are twice as likely to suffer from a gambling related disorder than those who don't. Moreover, it can be a way to acquire a bit of venture capital. But does it all pay off? Aside from the usual suspects, some of these gamblers may have a more sinister motivation, like a need to cover the tab or an addiction to alcohol or drugs. So, what is the optimal approach to gambling in the Vietnamese context?

While it is not a slam dunk, the best way to combat this problem is to create a gambling culture that is inclusive, i.e., everyone has a stake. If this isn't possible, then at least the casinos have to be more regulated. Currently, the country has the highest legal gambling age among the ASEAN member states, with most gambling carried out in licensed casinos, which are typically run by foreign passport holders.
